LAND TRUST OF NORTH ALABAMA
Hello
My name is Charlotte Marie Isbell
I am an Expressionist artist from Sydney, Australia, now based in Madison, Alabama. My work explores the intersection of humanity and the natural world, using color and movement to inspire reflection, harmony, and a renewed appreciation for conservation.
With over a decade of experience in creative industries and six years devoted to contemporary oil paintings, I have witnessed the transformative impact of art on individuals and communities. Over the last two years I've been inspired to share this impact through unique experiences in Huntsville, that offer meaningful Art engagement.
Below you will find the details to a proposed collaboration between The Land Trust and myself, inspired by a deeply personal commitment to celebrating and preserving the natural character
of North Alabama through art.

Commission: 104 Jefferson St, Huntsville, 2024

An Immersive
Art Experience
I see an immersive experience that brings awe to art, nature and our own human connection to both.
A reflective, uplifting space of curiosity and beauty.
Where guests connect in new ways to the idea of stewardship of our beautiful land.
ART SHOW PROPOSAL

As an artist, I’m at a point where I want my work to directly benefit the world around me in a meaningful way. Rather than directing a large portion of proceeds to galleries or agents, this proposed collaboration offers an opportunity to reinvest in the land itself—ensuring its beauty and vitality are preserved for future generations.
PURPOSE:
This proposal seeks to establish a meaningful collaboration between myself and the Land Trust of North Alabama to create an immersive art experience in late 2025. Rooted in a shared mission of conservation and creativity, this event will celebrate the profound connection between humanity and nature, inspiring attendees to view land stewardship as an intrinsic part of life’s beauty and harmony.

OBJECTIVES:
-
Collaboration: Unite art and conservation in a shared mission, positioning the Land Trust as a leader in fostering creative approaches to preservation.
-
Experience: Offer an intimate, uplifting art event designed to connect attendees emotionally and viscerally with the land, drawing inspiration from the timeless impact of Monet’s Water Lilies.
-
Inspiration: Use the artwork to inspire reflection, encouraging the community to embrace conservation as an essential part of life’s balance and beauty.
-
Support: Dedicate a portion of proceeds from artwork sales to directly benefit land conservation efforts, creating tangible, lasting impacts on North Alabama’s natural environment.
This isn’t just an art show—it’s an invitation to pause, reflect, and be inspired by the profound connection we share with the natural world.

The Artworks
The artwork for the proposed show will mark the final chapter in the Softness Series, a body of work that explores the deep connection between humanity and the natural world.

Through layers of texture and movement, my intention is for the collection to reflect the dynamic relationship between people and the environment—offering an uplifting and immersive experience. Each work invites viewers to see landscapes not just as physical spaces, but to feel our shared emotional connection.
As the culmination of the Softness Series, this collection celebrates the enduring power of nature to inspire connection and renewal.
